The Brant Curling Club is currently seeking a Club Manager for the 2016-2017 season. 




The Brant Curling Club is a not-for-profit curling centre which has roots dating as far back as 1913. The current club location has been our home since 1950. The club features 5 sheets of curling ice as well as a licensed lounge. Our membership consists of 325 curlers ranging in age from youth to senior. The manager reports to the President and is responsible for club operations on a day-to-day basis. The Brant Curling Club offers competitive compensation as well as a friendly work environment.



One-year contract with possible annual renewal.




The position of club manager includes but is not limited to the following roles and responsibilities.


      Operations Management

  • Ensure compliancy with all by-laws and legislation as required

  • Ensure operating financials are completed and reviewed and provided to bookkeeper

  • Negotiate and manage operating and staffing contracts

  • Negotiate and manage supplies and product contracts

  • Oversee building maintenance

  • Operate and maintain pro-shop



      Membership Development and Support

  • Manage and organize membership

  • Promote the sport of curling within the community

  • Ensure club is in good standing with affiliates

  • Handle member inquiries and concerns



      Marketing and Communications

  • Provide frequent communication to members with regards to club matters

  • Assist in marketing the club and facility to the community

  • Develop concepts that will help generate new membership and increase club awareness


      Facility Scheduling

  • Maintain an accurate and current calendar of event bookings

  • Liaise with Ice Technician to ensure ice maintenance schedule in calendar

  • Schedule and oversee all off-season event bookings





  • Previous management experience is an asset

  • First Aid/CPR certification is an asset

  • Smart Serve Ontario certification is an asset

  • WHMIS training and certification is an asset

  • NCCP coaching certification is preferred

  • Ice Technician certification is preferred

  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills

  • Problem solving and good judgement

  • A passion for sport management and knowledge of curling

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and general computer knowledge





Compensation will be commensurate on experience and qualifications. Additional compensation is available via a comprehensive bonus structure.




Start Date - September 1, 2016

End Date - August 31, 2017


Due to the seasonal nature of curling this position requires a full time commitment during the season and a part time commitment during the off-season.
